In an effort to foster kindness and empathy toward all living beings, Heaven Can Wait Society and Angels for Animals would like to help educators provide humane education lessons and after school clubs in their school community. The Angels for Animals program provides units for grades 1-3 and 4-5. In addition, there are plays, recommended reading lists, and PowerPoint presentations to aid in the learning of these important topics. For middle and high school we have a manual to assist educators in forming an after school club that focuses on the humane treatment of companion animals.
Studies show that children who are introduced to humane education programs like ours become more empathetic and understanding toward animals and each other.

Testimonials
My students loved becoming responsible "little parents" to their new pets. They were excited to learn about the pet adoption program and were eager to learn how they could help. This program made my students more aware of their community and all the animals that need our help. I love this program and I hope it continues in the future. Marly MacPherson, 2nd Grade Teacher

My class had a blast learning about how to take care of pets with your program. They loved their stuffed pets and took their responsibility as a pet caretaker seriously at school and at home.

My students were so excited about the whole unit! They couldn't wait to see what each lesson brought. I got so many positive comments from students and parents. What a great way to create responsible citizens!

My students really connected with the Heaven Can Wait Humane Education unit. They learned responsible pet care through hands on activities.

We were very fortunate to have the students participate in the educational program offered by Heaven Can Wait. The students learned about the responsibilities of pet ownership, in addition to the services offered through Heaven Can Wait. The students understand the need to spay and neuter to control over population and that adopting a pet is a great opportunity to save an animal and add to their family.

The students at John A. Dooley Elementary School in Henderson, Nevada have been learning a lot about the proper care and maintenance of our 4-legged furry companions. Using Heaven Can Wait’s newest program, Angels for Animals, the students at Dooley fostered and later had the opportunity to adopt stuffed cats and dogs as they moved through a unit focusing on caring for a pet, staying safe around animals, and the importance of having you pet spayed or neutered. One student at Dooley had the following to say:
“I have learned a lot while studying our pet unit. I learned how to completely care for a pet. I learned about animal cruelty and how sad it really is. I learned how to stay safe around dogs and I learned about the pet overpopulation crises and why people bring pets to the shelter. I want to work with animals when I get older. This unit has helped me to learn a lot of what I’ll need to know to work with animals.”
